The purpose of the present study lies in determining the visionary leadership manifest in the administrative staff of the Guapan Educational Unit, with the research taking the form of a positivist descriptive research study that will deepen the knowledge of the variable that concerns us: visionary leadership. Through the application of field designs, the information was obtained directly from interaction with the subjects, who made up a population of (62) subjects, among whom were (07) administrators and (55) educational professionals, with the sample consisting of 38 instructors. The instrument used was an 18-item multiple-choice questionnaire (Almost always, Sometimes and Almost never), which was validated by three experts, with a reliability of 0.97, which demonstrates that it is highly reliable. The consolidation of this research showed with its results that the administrative staff engages in visionary leadership in the Guapan Educational Unit. The opinion of the instructional staff, however, shows just the opposite, judging that the administrators show weakness in visionary leadership. For this reason, guidelines are offered to the administrators of the state-funded private school located in the Cañar province, Azogues district, Guapan parishPeer Reviewe

Cancer immunotherapy as a new treatment option

Cancer can coaptate the immune control of the immune system (IS), evade immunity and its destruction. So, could we say openly that immunotherapy is a viable treatment option for patients with advanced cancer? Yes, immunotherapy would give us great advances in the war against cancer. Therefore, the development of a new generation of immune modulators (which have been analyzed in the following article) is necessary. In addition, these will be more effective if we use them in combination, taking advantage of their synergy.Universidad de Málaga. Campus de Excelencia Internacional Andalucía Tech

    Trace-level reuse

Trace-level reuse is based on the observation that some traces (dynamic sequences of instructions) are frequently repeated during the execution of a program, and in many cases, the instructions that make up such traces have the same source operand values. The execution of such traces will obviously produce the same outcome and thus, their execution can be skipped if the processor records the outcome of previous executions. This paper presents an analysis of the performance potential of trace-level reuse and discusses a preliminary realistic implementation. Like instruction-level reuse, trace-level reuse can improve performance by decreasing resource contention and the latency of some instructions. However, we show that trace-level reuse is more effective than instruction-level reuse because the former can avoid fetching the instructions of reused traces. This has two important benefits: it reduces the fetch bandwidth requirements, and it increases the effective instruction window size since these instructions do not occupy window entries. Moreover, trace-level reuse can compute all at once the result of a chain of dependent instructions, which may allow the processor to avoid the serialization caused by data dependences and thus, to potentially exceed the dataflow limit.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

    Plant biotechnology

The first decade of the 21st century has seen an intense debate of the potential contribution of Plant Biotechnology to meeting present and future world demands of food and biomass. The discussion started in 1997 when the first genetically modified (GM) crops were approved by the EPA for commercial production. The debate has been later stimulated by the increasing awareness of the potential effects of global climate change on agricultural production, as the current crops may be poorly adapted to the additional biotic and abiotic stresses caused by the change. Although cultivation of GM crops now exceeds 120 million hectares, the impact of plant biotechnology on agriculture is, surprisingly, still a matter of debate. While some groups oppose this technology for environmental and food security reasons, farmers are eager to adopt it and the overwhelming majority of scientists is demanding greater investments in plant biology and agricultural research, as well as a greater effort to translate lab results into field applications. Additionally, there is a demand to further extend plant biotechnology to other crops, such as those relevant for developing countries and those related to bioenergy production and green chemical product
